It's 8.30am on New Years morning

and the phones start ringing, first the home phone, then Mick's mobile and then my mobile. I had decided to ignore the home phone, whoever was out of bed that early didn't warrant a response anyway. Then Mick's phone rang, and I thought, who is so desperate to get a hold of us but still move out of my cosy warm bed. Luckily Mick has better ears than I do (his phone tells you who is calling) and he could understand who was calling, it was someone at the shop. But who could it be with Mick and I being the only ones who have keys. Oh what the heck is going on. By this time it was the turn of my phone to ring but by time we got there it had stopped ringing, so one with some clothes and off we went. We took off like greased lightning with me driving and Mick trying to ring the shop, even though I was a little skeptical that if there were robbers there that they would answer the phone. No it wasn't robbers it was the Police. Someone had broken the door to the shop and there was glass everywhere, but in my usual not yet quite a scrapbooker, the mess was cleaned up before I even thought about the camera.

Thank heavens for Mick. This is what it looks like now, but luckily we don't open till 7 January and hopefully by then everything will be back to normal.

All I can say is onward and upward for 2009 - cause you know what I'm thinking is that this happened last year (2008 well maybe right on midnight but its still last year) and it can only get better from here.

Annoyed but still smiling.
