Just a little tease

Have a look at these, they are a little tease for the card organiser we will be running during January. I will finish them and put the samples up by the end of the weekend. I am currently working on the January class list as well and it should be finalised in the next couple of days.

Still cleanig up

I thought things were going really well yesterday afternoon when we were down at the shop cleaning up the mess UNTIL I found glass shards as far back at the paper room. We were down there till about 7.00pm last night cleaning down every (well starting to) surface in the place. Don't get me wrong, it did need doing but we hadn't want to do it this weekend. Oh well, I'm off down there again (shortly) to continue some more.

It's 8.30am on New Years morning

and the phones start ringing, first the home phone, then Mick's mobile and then my mobile. I had decided to ignore the home phone, whoever was out of bed that early didn't warrant a response anyway. Then Mick's phone rang, and I thought, who is so desperate to get a hold of us but still move out of my cosy warm bed. Luckily Mick has better ears than I do (his phone tells you who is calling) and he could understand who was calling, it was someone at the shop. But who could it be with Mick and I being the only ones who have keys. Oh what the heck is going on. By this time it was the turn of my phone to ring but by time we got there it had stopped ringing, so one with some clothes and off we went. We took off like greased lightning with me driving and Mick trying to ring the shop, even though I was a little skeptical that if there were robbers there that they would answer the phone. No it wasn't robbers it was the Police. Someone had broken the door to the shop and there was glass everywhere, but in my usual not yet quite a scrapbooker, the mess was cleaned up before I even thought about the camera.

Thank heavens for Mick. This is what it looks like now, but luckily we don't open till 7 January and hopefully by then everything will be back to normal.

All I can say is onward and upward for 2009 - cause you know what I'm thinking is that this happened last year (2008 well maybe right on midnight but its still last year) and it can only get better from here.

Annoyed but still smiling.

Retreat

Our second retreat for this year is being run at Riddells Creek, a venue which has served us well for the last four years. The main room has a brilliant fire, to keep us well warm, should it be required.
The cost of the retreat is $195.00 which includes all food, accommodation and classes. You will however, have to bring your own sleeping bag or doona, sheet and pillow, clothes and toiletries.
We will once again be having a layout competition, where you will be given a diagram and you will be required to use that plan to make either a layout or a card and the winner will be awarded a prize. This was a great exercise last time with the girls having almost the whole time of the retreat to produce some very interesting results. We will also be having some other fun times.
As this will be our last retreat at this venue, and you all love the idea of themes so that you can make your ATCs I have decided to go with “Bon Voyage” or travel or just plain old see ya. Let your minds start working and see what you can come up with.
Download the registration form and return it to us with your deposit of $50.00 with the balance being paid by the end of September. We look forward to seeing you there.
